A year ago we started creating what is now BariBuddy -the app for bariatric surgery patients. Early June this year the first patients were offered the pilot version of the app. The lauch was made at Aleris Obesitas, Sweden’s largest center for obesity surgery.
The goal is for the app to go public this summer. In the beginning it will be an iPhone-app, with an Android version in the future pipeline.
The purpose of the app is to make everyday life easier for bariatric surgery patients, by push notification reminders regarding meals, fluids, exercise, vitamins and medications. The app holds a recipe bank, an FAQ section, an Eating Speed Timer, selfie-photos, diary function and weight curve diagram.
The creators of the BariBuddy app are Baricol Bariatrics in collaboration with Dr. Carl-Magnus Broden and dietician Joanna Lenner, both active at Sweden’s largest center for obesity surgery -Aleris Obesitas in Malmö.
